Undercut details

The undercut trim is made from the same fabric as the product itself. If the product is made of thick fabric, the undercut trim is made of thinner, but the same color. 

To make the undercut trim, circle the contour of the neck on the pattern. Then add 1.5-2 cm wide and cut out. 

Place undercut trim on the neckline from the front side, face to face, and sew, 5 mm from the edge. Process the lower cut with a zig-zag stitching seam, or fold inside and stitch, so that the edge does not crumble. In contrast to the strips trim, the undercut trim should not be visible on the front side. Then turn the undercut trim inside out and secure with “hand stitching” or chain stitch.

Summer sundresses or nightgowns - i.e. products without sleeves with narrow shoulders - under trimming is done on the entire upper part of the bodice, including armholes. In this case, the bodice is processed first and under-turn, and then the details of the front and back are joined.
