Robinson Crusoe was found

In 1709 on the island of Mas-a-Tierra archipelago Juan Fernandez, Scottish sailor Alexander Selkirk was discovered, he became the prototype of the hero Robinson Crusoe.

He lived more than 4 years as an outcast after he was landed on the island in the Pacific Ocean, 670 km from the coast of Chile.

By the time he was found, he had become a skilled hunter and could use the resources found on the island.

The story of  the Selkirk's survival was unveiled, and he became a source of inspiration for the writer Daniel Defoe in the book "Robinson Crusoe."
