AquariusJanuary 30. Born on this day are usually talented leaders.

They have well-developed organizational skills, know how to teach others and clearly communicate their thoughts to others.

As a rule, their high communication skills and responsibility give them the right to lead a family clan, a thriving company with subsidiaries in various regions, or even a large political party.

Most of them are moral people. Outwardly similar to dictators, those born on this day are the happiest when they build something from scratch, starting from the foundation and tracing the implementation of the project to the very end. When the moment comes to manage already existing structures, their instinct prompts them to stop in order to correctly determine the prospects for further development.

Operating System Windows Vista went on sale

January 30, 2007

Windows Vista is the operating system of the Microsoft Windows NT family.

Windows Vista is the operating system of the Microsoft Windows NT family. Vista received an updated design of the user interface in comparison with Windows XP.

Support for Windows Vista by Microsoft was terminated on April 11, 2017.

At an early stage of development, the system was known by the code name Longhorn (named Longhorn Saloon near the Whistler ski resort in British Columbia).

The name Vista was announced on July 22, 2005.

A few months later, Microsoft also renamed Windows Longhorn Server to Windows Server 2008. Since November 8, 2006, a full version of Windows Vista is available to hardware manufacturers.

Release for the users took place on January 30, 2007.

It is worth noting that the release of many features announced in Windows Vista has been canceled by Microsoft because of public discontent.

The actual hardware requirements of Windows Vista outperformed the capabilities of the widely used computers of those years, and were much higher than those claimed.

Also, a scandal broke out between the "Friendship Department with Intel" and the Microsoft Windows development department, which rose to the level of Vice President. The development department insisted that it is impossible to mitigate the officially stated requirements for the equipment, but Intel insisted on their softening in order to keep in production some time old, but at that time a very popular chipset (which did not satisfy the soft requirements, and would be immediately "killed" as a market product in the case of Vista release with uncomplicated requirements). Friendship with Intel won, the requirements were mitigated, despite the fact that Vista worked unsatisfactorily slowly on this chipset.

Market failure
  • The reviewers said that Windows Vista is the worst operating system for Microsoft.
  • Windows Vista took first place in the competition "The failure of the year", conducted by the site Pwnie award.
  • According to The Inquirer.net, unprecedented promotions related to the promotion of Windows Vista on the market, showed that the management of Microsoft recognized the OS as a failure.

Holidays

January 30

Day of the Father Frost and Snow Maiden

It was one of the most popular winter holidays among the Slavs.

On this day, our ancestors told tales and legends about Father Frost (Santa Claus) and the Snow Maiden.

There were stories about how the Snow Maiden, at the whim of the goddess of love, Lely, fell in love with a human man, and so with the arrival of Spring she did not fly away to the North. But as soon as "the bright ray of the sun cuts through the morning mist and falls on the Snow Maiden," she melts.

On this day, the Slavs honored the enemy of Perun - Frost - the hypostasis of Veles. Frost was married on the Snow Queen ( the daughter of Mary and Koshchey). Frost and the Snow Queen had a beautiful daughter, the Snow Maiden.

The day of Father Frost and Snow Maiden was a symbolic end of winter, after which a broad and generous Maslenitsa was just around the corner.
