Windows Vista is the operating system of the Microsoft Windows NT family. Vista received an updated design of the user interface in comparison with Windows XP.
Support for Windows Vista by Microsoft was terminated on April 11, 2017.
At an early stage of development, the system was known by the code name Longhorn (named Longhorn Saloon near the Whistler ski resort in British Columbia).
The name Vista was announced on July 22, 2005.
A few months later, Microsoft also renamed Windows Longhorn Server to Windows Server 2008. Since November 8, 2006, a full version of Windows Vista is available to hardware manufacturers.

On this day, the Slavs honored the enemy of Perun - Frost - the hypostasis of Veles. Frost was married on the Snow Queen ( the daughter of Mary and Koshchey). Frost and the Snow Queen had a beautiful daughter, the Snow Maiden.
The day of Father Frost and Snow Maiden was a symbolic end of winter, after which a broad and generous Maslenitsa was just around the corner.
